Privacy policy

Effective date: June 7, 2026 · Last updated: June 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information OrientME (“OrientME”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, why we collect it, who else processes it, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the OrientME web app, the OrientME mobile app, and this documentation site.

OrientME holds some of the most personal parts of your life — your money, your health, your private notes. We’ve tried to write this policy in plain language so you can actually understand what happens to that data.

The short version

We collect the information you put into OrientME and what’s needed to run your account. We use it to provide the app to you — nothing more. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use advertising or behavioral-tracking technology. Where a feature relies on a trusted service provider — such as connecting a bank or generating an AI trip plan — we share only what that feature needs, and nothing more. You can export your data and permanently delete your account at any time.

Who we are

OrientME is a personal-productivity service operated by Richter Investments LLC, a Nevada limited liability company based in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. For the purposes of data-protection law, Richter Investments LLC (operating as OrientME) is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us, content you create in the app, and a small amount of technical information needed to run and secure the service.

Account information

When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and — if you sign up with a password — a securely hashed version of that password (we never store your password in readable form). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a unique account identifier and the email address (or a private relay address, for Apple) from that provider so we can recognize you; we don’t receive your provider password.

Content you create

OrientME stores the content you add so it’s there when you come back. Depending on which features you use, this includes:

  • Tasks, cycles, routines, plans, and lists — what you’re working on, dates, notes, and comments.
  • Calendar events — occasions you add, with times, places, and links.
  • Notes, journal entries, and vision board items — including any moods, prompts, and free-form text you write.
  • Travel — trips, flights, stays, day-by-day itineraries, ideas, expenses, and the places (and their locations) you add to a trip.
  • Finance — accounts, balances, holdings, assets, debts, cash-flow entries, and transactions (see Connecting financial accounts).
  • Health — the metrics, workouts, nutrition, body measurements, lab results, supplements, meditation sessions, and goals you choose to log (see Health information).
  • Files you upload — attachments such as receipts, documents, and images you add to the items above, and photos you add to your vision board.

Technical and diagnostic information

To keep your session active and the app reliable, we process a limited amount of technical information:

  • A session cookie. When you sign in, we set a single, encrypted, essential cookie so the app knows you’re signed in. It isn’t used for advertising or tracking.
  • Error diagnostics. When something goes wrong, we record the error (the message, where in the app it happened, and your account identifier) so we can fix it. We deliberately configure this to exclude the contents of your requests, your IP address, and your session — so your financial and health data is not sent to our error-monitoring tool.
No analytics, no tracking, no ads

OrientME does not embed advertising pixels, third-party behavioral-analytics SDKs, marketing cookies, or session-replay tools. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Sensitive information

Some of what you can store in OrientME is sensitive by nature — financial account data and health data in particular. We treat this information with extra care, only process it to provide the features you use, and never use it for advertising or sell it. Where the law treats this as a special category of data, we rely on your explicit consent — given by choosing to enter or connect it — as the basis for processing it.

Connecting financial accounts

If you choose to connect a bank or brokerage, OrientME uses trusted financial-data providers to do it:

  • Bank accounts are connected through a trusted bank-connection provider. You authorize the connection with your bank through that provider; OrientME receives your account details, balances, and recent transaction history (typically the last several months) so it can show your cash flow and net worth.
  • Brokerage accounts are connected through a trusted brokerage-connection provider. OrientME receives your holdings and balances so it can show your portfolio.

You authorize these connections through your own bank or brokerage login inside the provider's secure flow — OrientME never receives or stores your bank or brokerage password. The connections are read-only: they let OrientME display your data, and cannot move money or place trades. The credentials that keep an account connected are encrypted at rest. You can disconnect a linked account at any time from the Finance settings, which stops further syncing, and you can also add accounts, assets, and balances entirely manually without connecting anything. For more detail, see Security & data handling.

Health information

Anything you log in the Health area — including body metrics, blood-pressure and heart-rate readings, sleep, workouts, nutrition, lab/bloodwork results, and supplements — is stored solely to provide the Health features to you (for example, your wellness score and trends over time). We do not share it with insurers, employers, advertisers, or anyone else, and you can delete it at any time.

How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide the app — store and show your content, sync your connected accounts, and keep everything working across web and mobile.
  • Run AI features you trigger — see AI features below.
  • Send you necessary emails — such as account confirmations, sign-in and security messages, trip-share links you create, and alerts you’ve set up (for example, flight-price watches). We do not send marketing email you didn’t ask for.
  • Keep OrientME secure and reliable — authenticate you, prevent abuse, debug errors, and protect the service and its users.
  • Meet legal obligations — when we’re required to.

We do not use your content to advertise to you, and we do not sell your personal information.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process your data on these bases: to perform our contract with you (providing the app you signed up for); your consent (for example, when you connect a financial account, enter health data, or trigger an AI feature); our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure and working; and to comply with legal obligations.

AI features

Some features — such as “Plan with AI” for trips, holdings commentary, and extracting results from a lab report you upload — use a trusted third-party AI provider to generate content.

  • AI is used only when you trigger it. If you never use an AI feature, none of your data is sent to the AI provider.
  • We send only the context needed for that task — for example, your trip dates and preferences, the symbols in your portfolio, or the lab document you uploaded for extraction.
  • Generated results are saved in your account, kept separate from your own content, and never overwrite what you wrote.
  • Your data is not used to train the AI provider’s models.

Cookies

OrientME uses a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. It’s encrypted and HttpOnly, and it’s required for the app to function — so there’s no cookie banner to dismiss and nothing to opt out of. We do not use advertising, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies.

How long we keep your data

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your content — including your tasks, notes, journal, travel, finance, health data, and uploaded files. Limited records may be retained only where we’re required to keep them by law, or in routine backups that are cycled out over time.

Your choices and rights

You’re in control of your data:

  • Access and review — your information is visible to you in the app whenever you’re signed in.
  • Correct or update — edit your content and account details directly in the app.
  • Export — download key data, such as your finances, from within the relevant section.
  • Disconnect — unlink any connected bank or brokerage at any time.
  • Delete — permanently delete your account and its data from the Account page. This can’t be undone.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights:

  • EEA / UK (GDPR): rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): the rights to know, access, delete, and correct your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

To exercise any right that isn’t self-service in the app, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Security

We protect your data with measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS, plus mutual TLS for bank connections), encryption at rest for sensitive credentials such as the tokens that keep your financial accounts connected, an encrypted sign-in session, hashed passwords, per-user isolation of your data and files, and time-limited links for accessing uploaded files. Connections to your bank and brokerage are read-only, and we never receive your provider password. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your information and to limit what each part of the system can access. See Security & data handling for more on how financial connections are protected.

International data transfers

OrientME and its service providers may process and store data in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers. By using OrientME, you understand your information may be processed in these locations.

Children’s privacy

OrientME isn’t directed to children. You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to create an account. We don’t knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as OrientME changes or as the law requires. When we make a meaningful change, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use OrientME after a change means you accept the updated policy.
